A childhood interest in sketching buildings and building dens led me to study architecture at Cambridge.
I then worked at architects' practices in Cardiff and Richmond, and subsequently in Cambridge, where Graham and I were colleagues.
After taking my professional exams I had a career break to start a family and spend time with my daughters in their early years, following which I joined Graham's practice, becoming an associate in 1999 and a fellow director in 2002.
Apart from buildings, I also love drawing people: I have illustrated several physiotherapy textbooks and latterly have resumed my interest in portraiture.
In recent years I have become an ardent hill walker, last year completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge: I am looking forward to repeating the adventure in 2009.
